Unfortunately this is not going to happen as the FAA already have a way of detecting cracks it’s called NDT. The added safety benefit we offer is you don’t have to strip down the area requiring the test, human error here could cause an accident as what happened with the blown out door plug panel. The reduced costs over using the old NDT method speaks for itself, but we should be now pushing that safety benefit more. Boeing under new upcoming management which I hope has more engineering content will be on the lookout for these benefits.
