This is true. My sister-in-law had a melanoma on her 'pinky' toe and they ended up having to amputate her toe so they could ensure that nothing was left behind. Took her a while to regain her balance. You wouldn't believe how it upsets the balance by not having that pressure put in your little toe. This was about 4 years ago and she's been healthy ever since.
