I hadn’t considered the implications of the anti-trust laws and monopoly situation fully. But my thinking was that the new owner of our IP could license it out themselves, but maintaining control over ‘who’ has access, not necessarily a true monopoly preventing access by competitors …. just having control.

Yes, a bidding war could become expensive, which is what we surely all want. For companies who want to bid to purchase our IP, perhaps the earlier they take control of the IP, the cheaper the winning bid will be. Taking into account the ‘speccy’ nature of this industry as it currently still stands. Once it is no longer speccy then the price goes up dramatically.

The question is ……. How confident the big players are about the transition to ‘the edge’ and when that will happen .
