Best way to expose Labour is to ask if they are going to tax foreign imports of oil and gas at the same rate as what they tax local operators. 50 % of the UK's energy needs are met my imports .

if they do it will push up the bills of every consumer and business that uses energy.

if they don't they are just favouring foreign oil and gas giants at the expense of local operators and jobs.

Their approach also puts in jeopardy any financial investment across all sectors as it can be destroyed by poorly thought out policy that seems to come from the West African school of politics.



there are so many ways for the oil and gas PR machine to tackle this one. My guess is they are keeping their powder dry until the election kicks into gear.
