I simply don't understand why things happen sometimes. This morning I noticed a clear buildup on the buyer side for MDA. I correctly predicted a tick up (posted it on the morning thread), and within 30 minutes MDA had gone up on the strength of off-screen-buyers, which is always a bullish sign (the pros don't show their hand by placing orders).
Some sellers also appeared from off-screen at the current price, preventing MDA from ticking up to 0.027. Still, it looked healthy enough for an afternoon run.
Suddenly, at 2.15, 8 million shares were dumped into the market in a 2 minute selling frenzy, forcing the price back to 0.024 and even 0.023 All of a sudden, it's back to where we were last week. Buyers have gone - sellers are in control. The depth imbalance has reversed.
What was the point of it all? Have the sellers of 8M shares made a profit? If so, why didn't they sell gradually to encourage a higher price? Who the hell are they, and what is their agenda? Market anonymity has a lot to answer for.
