Whilst there are cultural issues to do with domestic violence -
and there are problems and behaviours there by both men and women -
I doubt if one can make any headway at all in a society such as Australia - when the country cannot house, feed, keep healthy and educate it's people
STRESS
it's that simple ------------- stress creates many things --------- 'driven to drink' - old saying - bloody true
what causes stress? well - among other things ----------- economics and poverty
and in a culture which is surrounded by imagery of plenty - big houses, all the goods in harvey normal, flash cars -
if people can't handle their mortgage, if they can't get a rental, if the only rentals they get are like hovels
if they can't stay fed well and stay fit and healthy -
if they can't get an education to increase their incomes -
guess what ----------- they are going to be stressed ----------- they will drink, they will gamble
they will argue about those behaviours, they will fight
no prizes here for thinking this - we don't need Einstein or Sherlock
look no further than Maslow's Hierarchy of needs -------- if your county isn't even on the bottom rungs - let alone just on the bottom rung
you are going nowhere
