Whe i used to do a lot of wild pig hunting in SW Queensland in the late 70s early 80s one of the properties i went to many times had up to 18 dogs, all kept on a 6ft chain and fed every 3 days, reason being i was told that a fat dog wont work, being an agistment property if they had a lot of stock taken off the place the manager would shoot 6 dogs, ie they were not needed so were shot, harsh but true story.
