Comparisons between various mining companies may be of interest to those holding shares in these other stocks but for those of us whose interest is in CDU, I find the exercise of little value.
What does interest me is what Xstrata are going to do to boost their throughput at Ernest Henry. Exco's holding so close to EH would seem to be the obvious choice but there has been no move by the x-men.That leaves CDU but hopefully the M@G connection has put a stop to that.
Cdu is very fortnate in its location being so close to Cloncurry, to rail, major highway, power grid and water supply.
The machinery is ready, office and workers'accommodation is built in Cloncurry, Port of Townsville lease in place. The Mining Lease approval will see great activity at Rocklands and all will then be revealed regarding the native copper content. Until then, it is speculation.
Whatever the outcome, the low stripping ratio in the early years on the open pit bonanza zones at current copper , gold and cobalt prices makes for a very profitable mining operation and do not lose sight of the magnetite.
CDU has come a mighty long way in a few years from being a copper sulphate producer at Mt Norma to shortly that of a major mine operator.
