Sovereign risk is always a factor ,I never said it wasn't.
However your example is AVZ ?? I thought that was chasing Li in the Congo?
We are talking about Brasil , please give an example of Sovereign risk there.
I wouldn't have the opinion, that I have now, about sovereign risk in Australia a few years ago.
However things change ,Lithium price is down a lot so operating costs, which are high in outback Australia or the Arctic circle of Canada get badly exposed.
Greentape and Native title is a much bigger factor here now, like Canada.
Both have left wing ideologue governments in charge,
Queensland Government's Coal tax is now the highest in the world.
Native title just stopped the South West Victoria offshore wind farms.
Santos, has been trying to get it's $6 Billion Narrabri gas field to market for years, it got halted in court last month by the local Gomeroi people.
The Scarborough $16 Billion offshore gas field that Woodside is fighting for in court, and Santos's $6 Billion Timor sea gas project ,both were opposed by
Federal Government's Environment Defenders Office (EDO) ,funded by tax payers ,who used fake evidence from supposed ,"expert witnesses from DEI loaded Universities,"
The judge was scathing about their tactics.
So the Government is Fighting these cases
This federal government has also blocked several coal mines .
Federal domestic price caps on Gas ($12/Megajoule ),and Coal ($125/tonne),were sudden and arbitrary and designed to stop the renewables
runaway costs, due to increases in the 10.000 kms of transmission lines.
So to say Australia has little or no sovereign risk is not true .
