Well, you better find a better history source, they just gathered together what was around at the time and decided which was to go into the Bible.
Despite what they claim, they are not part of the Apostles etc or what they taught, that all went belly up after them.
It would be interesting to see what they didn't include and probably destroyed, as it would have exposed their corruptions, even more than the Bible does, with many aspects of it, they clearly did not understand what they were compiling, due to the delusions imposed on them.

When the Bibles first come out, nearly all the said scholars from the break away, immediately pointed the finger at the Vatican as being the Throne of satan.
So the Vatican went into decoy mode in numerous ways, to take the heat off them, and most silly Christians fell for it.

Sad part about it, as I've already said, most of the break aways come away with their corrupted key core roots, resulting in 30,000 odd differing groups.
