My parents as baby boomers worked hard but never saved too much and never owned a home.
I am Gen X, left school in Year 10 because I hated it, and the teachers hated me. Went out and got a job as a laborer and become a Tiler. Have been given nothing, but I have smashed it over the last 15 years (since the GFC). Educated myself back then, saved shit loads into Super and done very nicely trading stocks. Just got into an investment property now also for the first time. So now I am a leach landlord hahaha. Can safely say that I'm travelling bloody well, except for a crook back.
I have 3 Millennial kids. The oldest a Carpenter who is 22 and has already bought his first home. I've given him nothing, just taught him the basics, and he was determined from the start of his apprenticeship. My 20-year-old is trading now also, all blue chips, no specs, and building a nice portfolio.
I don't accept any of the whining, and the excuses, or blaming landlords or older generations etc. To all the sooks........get on with it, stop the moaning and make a plan, like me and my kids.
