We have experienced the same as we too are on tank water but now have sufficient tank requirements to see us through most dry times. Our last fully fledged droughts were in 2006 with 19 inches and 2019 around the same.
By the way I was in your area during November playing cricket and on two occasions the temperature was 40!!! Then the last two games 35 and 37 which didn't reduce the trauma of batting much!!!!
Spent quite a bit of time in the Murchison many years ago and it's more than hot and dry there!!!!
