What? The value of points received is different? What are you smoking? The points are the same, you make it sound like they have different class of points. they are all the same!
why did person B book with Classic Rewards Plus? Because they couldn’t get classic rewards! Did they pay more than person A? Yes of course. But… last week their only option was Pay maybe 5 times as much via points plus Pay. Today they can still get a flight at a reasonable albeit high point cost.
It is added optionality. That optionality adds value to a point holder.
