While the "voice" is now irrelevant one of the issues it has highlighted is the unrepresentative nature of the loud aboriginal elites from the cities.
It seems clear to me that the city dwelling, loud voices of high profile aboriginals are not representative of the opinions of those living in remote communities. Many loud voices belong to people who generations ago moved into the white mainstream. Indeed many of the academic aboriginals have a dubious claim to any aboriginal DNA.
I understand you dislike Jacinta. However even you must accept that her and her mother have lived their lives close to real aboriginal culture.
In my view it's time for a real rethink of aboriginal policy, with all sides willing to reconsider their rusted on views and political perspectives. The plight of remote aboriginal children demands it.
