Agree that it is an attempt to entice US investors who are not approved to trade on the ASE. Here in the US you must apply to your broker for foreign trading privileges. Perhaps most importantly US retirement account cannot be used to trade on foreign exchanges. However the US listed shares can be traded in what we call 401k, IRA, and Roth IRA retirement accounts.
All that said I would be shocked if the shares were delisted in OZ. Major holder Brickworks would surely vote against the delisting.
