are you sure about that?????
try asking old folk in nursing homes - being bashed in their beds
try asking victims of domestic violence
try asking the tens of thousands of victims of church child abuse
try asking the homeless
try asking the family who are still alive about their dead 20 year olds that we forced to go to unjust wars
Australia is a mirage ---------- it has the appearances of being safe
but, there is a LOT of violence ----------- go ask any casualty staff in a public hospital what Cas looks like on a Friday and Saturday night
go ask anyone who has visited Vietnam and walked about at night - compared to walking in Oz at night -------
you believe in a fantasy. It doesn't really exist. One sees it all the time - 'we thought that this could never happen here'
uh huh ------------ I did make a mistake several years back - I called some of the violent offenders in Melbourne 'tree swingers' -------- and, yes - I should not have done that
but, where are we now? -------------- home invasions, car jackings, machete attacks, stabbings, drive by shootings
now, I don't make the news reports up ---------- but, I will say - that does NOT look like safe and cohesive to me.
And, there are many many many other examples - not to do with violence - but, to do with scams, loss of housing, financial disasters --------
and the oddball thing - which I wrote about for years - and got told I was negative -
well, go look at the Jim Griffin case in Launceston General Hospital ------- I was writing about LGH in that period - I didn't know that Jim was doing what he was doing -
but, I'll tell you something --------- that's only the tip of a very large iceberg -
and that - is not 'safe and cohesive' -------- not within a country mile
if you need any reading on Griffin - I can get you the autopsy report
but, - there are a LOT of bodies that don't have autopsies - and, they should have had

Well my point was to say, Australia was safe and cohesive decades ago. It is much less so now.
Fact remains, Australia was a high functioning, safe society, now it is on a slippery road to ruination. On that we agree!
