China supply most of the world's spherical graphite, if they restrict supply ex China supply prices go up. China and state subsidies is the reason the graphite price is so low.
Non Chinese EV makers will need graphite, do you think China will say sure, don't buy our cars here's the graphite you need so you can sell your cars in USA ?
