Another possible explanation as outlined in my sign-off:
the shorting and short ladder attacks (in here) were part of accumulating on the cheap for related and disguised entities who wanted to takeover MSB on the cheap.
However Gregory's buying has crueled the cheap takeover possibilities, so they will live with their holdings.
Which means they will do very nicely indeed anyway, thank you very much. Just not the biggest prize.
Yes the attack dogs appear to have been called off.
