maybe Iran hasn’t attacked Israel so far because they are trying to avoid the failure of their participation in the invasion of Israel in 1948. (Where they didn’t take much interest in politics haha ).
or maybe they are trying to make up their mind whether to come out in what would be a full scale war rather than the proxy wars they have been engaged in for decades.
you might like to have a look at what has been going on in the Middle East. Iran has had a significant role in much of the turmoil there and has interfered in the politics of many states - sometimes directly and sometimes through funding and direction of terrorist groups. There has been a substantial influence in this meddling driven by its interest in installing an Islamic state (fundamentalist) across not just the Middle East but across the west (if it could)
so while you are getting excited by the idea of Iranian retaliation you might just like to stop and think what you are getting excited about
whatever one might think of the rights or wrongs of the Israeli approach this is not simply a political matter. On the one hand you have a man who craved power and has been backed by zealots in exchange for what I regard as morally wrong and stupid behaviour taking extreme action in response to a very real threat to their country
on the other hand you have a bunch of religious zealots backed by a fundamentalist government out to create havoc who has preyed on its neighbours for decades
this is a proxy religious war and statehood is such a small part of it. This religious war will not stop with the creation of a state of Palestine
