No, in some of the other companies I’ve held, existing shareholders are given in-specie shares in new company based on a certain % of existing holdings ~ equal to value it would subtract from parent company!
so existing shareholders are not disadvantaged by any means and there is a huge potential for both companies to rise independently of each other.
