That's basically what I posted.
The point was that a historical figure's meaning changes over time to suit a modern circumstances.
I doubt less than a quarter of people who fly the cross of St George know who he was & why he was remembered.
St George, the person he was, has no meaning to English people in 2024.
The St George in the cross of St George is now just a name, nothing else.
With regard to having it on the Australian flag or not it has zero to do with St George but rather the fact that it's part of the former colonial masters flag.
