Interesting read. US very late to the game and now complaining that China has spent last 10 years building a competitive advantage. They still don’t get it .
The difficult part of making EV’s ,and half the cost , is in the battery. So that’s the processing into highly purified chemicals ( cathode anode and electrolytes) cell production and pack assembly.
In all those areas they have around 90% of the worlds capacity- ( Korea/Japan/ Tesla the other part).
