i was scammed, page-41

Well well, those Gold Coast rookies flip my number around as always getting phone calls from them. However as soon as they say Gold Coast I read that as Scam, so not been caught out there.

On the other hand I had a phone call some weeks back re massive virus attacks going on and they were computer experts affiliated with Microsoft. Given it was the end of day and was really tired they caught me out a bit by having my address (did not put 2+2 together = phone book). I still remained cautious but they insisted if I turned on the computer they could prove it. I knew they could do nothing unless I gave them entry so out of curiousity took a look.

They took me to "Run" - enter "event viewer" and crikey there are all these errors, now i added this with in my head computer had slowed a tad, the operator said do not click on the event as thic could further compromise the machine. By this time I was tottally flabagasted.

Furtunately I did not allow remote access as still smelt a scam even though it was a touch convincing. I noted the next week there was a warning in the local rag.
