    Great Analysis Proga.

Further to that - I recently saw an infographic that suggested on average an EV contains 52Kgs of Graphite in its Anode.

It is inconceivable to me that environmentally it is possible to use Synthetic globally as the furnaces required to produce it need to run at 1000’s of degrees for extended periods to induce graphitisation.

Multiply that 52Kgs by the millions of EV’s being produced and the energy consumption is astronomical - even if it can be partially offset by renewables. And - not only that - huge amounts of excess heat and Co2 are produced.

Additionally - “most” synthetic graphite is made from byproducts of the Petrochemicals industry (petroleum coke..). As we move away from Oil - its refining and petrochemical production will become more expensive (less supply - more demand $$$) and this will push up the price of Synthetic significantly.

On top of this - not all petroleum coke is the same. The molecular composition is very specific to the resource it is extracted from and this affects the graphitisation process.

China has churned out tonnes of the stuff in its own back yard before anyone’s noticed - but I don’t see the rest of the world following the same path.

Syrahs massive, easily accessible, amorphous Ore body is significantly undervalued globally and will become more - not less valuable as time goes by.

    DYOR IMO
