Interesting article in the AFR today about "WA backlash delays environmental overhaul".

This "Nature Positive Plan" is a proposed 'tougher' overhaul of the current EPBC Act, for which BCI/Mardie seems to be struggling with the current version.

One might expect this proposed overhaul to be significantly tougher......

With a heavy 'Green' influence on the Albanese Govt, the WA position may see this get pushed back until post the next election, as WA in particular, have implied an electoral backlash. One can only hope.

    From the article -
"Earlier this month, the AFR revealed WA Labor Premier Roger Cook had lobbied PM Albanese & Environment Minister Plibersek against imposing another layer of "Green Tape" on the cash cows of the economy, and urged them to break the "Nature Positive Plan" into stages by delaying the EPBC overhaul and consulting further.

Mr Cook had only just fixed the mess his government created with its overbearing 'Cultural Heritage Act'.

Ms Plibersek said she had been pragmatic."

Just at a time when the world is crying out for a 'stable' and reliable supply of raw materials, more "Green Tape" - now that's just what we need.

Labor & The Greens - they just can't help themselves can they......rolleyes.png

    God help Australia.
