One interesting topic I think will relate to cultural proclivity for adoption of the technology, as well as building materials commonly used. For example Europe historically uses bricks for housing structures. There is some great research by a chap named Geert Hofstede who looks at cultural differences across countries (such as individualism, power dynamics etc) which can be used to really drill down into why some expansions fail. One example is ANZ’s massive failure to move into Asia. An example of a problem was the hyper individualism of Australians (not as bad as Americans but close) and partying nature (dudes were doing coke in strip clubs with clients) which clashed with their Asian counterparts during the negotiation process.

do you see any problems across cultures for adoption?
