Yes, it really is disappointing to see the long outdated nonsense about ‘not in my back yard’ above. Do those posters refuse to expose themselves to lifesaving nuclear diagnostic medicine, as I have, produced for many decades in a Sydney reactor quite close to urban dwellings.
The bricks in most of our houses emanate more nuclear radiation than would be received from a modern nuclear power plant. And I understand the radiation emitted by coal-fired power plants is also more than a modern nuclear plant; I’d far prefer to live near the latter to the former on air quality grounds alone!
