The rise of the Aussie shows the degree of the risk trade recently. However, any sign of potential crisis anywhere in the world would see risk aversion back in play with a rush back to the US dollar (and a sell off of everything that rallied while the dollar declined over recent months - including stocks, commodities, junk bonds, gold & silver and forex [especially the aud, cad, eur]). Caveat emptor.
