Hi Bar, I recently have found out that I in fact have a BAV I also had a PFO or hole in the heart. These are both birth defects. With a Bicuspid Aortic Valve the intervention rate can be as high as 4 in 5, 80% and if you can imagine both of the defects above generally only manifest in your senior years and a normal life is lived until the shyte hits the fan. So let's say 1.6% of the population will need a valve replacement for BAV. Cheers John.
