If youre in pension mode, tax ceases to be a big issue. You can sell at 92, and then you can put in for an allocation in the SPP. The record date was last week, so you do have the right to join the SPP.
The risk is oversubscription. If you put in for 30k, and so does everyone else, they'll have too many subscriptions and will scale back. Theyve already signalled an ability to take $15m instead of the initial $5m, but we will see. Ive done exactly what youre planning (sold today, buying back in the SPP) and am comfortable that i may or may not be scaled back. Thats your call though.
