A good question, where will the old S32 Mn alloy smelter in Tasmania get its Mn ore?
No Mn ore from South32’s manganese mine until the third quarter of 2025; What’s going to happen with Liberty Bay Manganese?
It’s even worse than thought for South32’s manganese ore shipments from its Gemco mine in Australia. The company doesn’t plan to restart wharf operations and export sales until the third quarter of 2025. Alternative shipping operations are being evaluated to mitigate the impact of the wharf damage caused by Tropical Cyclone Megan.
