but more complicated stuff requires western chips and other components which russia has to procure through the back door the concept of russian self sufficiency is a myth .....certainly they do produce a lot of ammo and have a big weapons industry but that is dependant on components from elsewhere
....and it may have passed your notice but Ukraine have been targetting russ oil refining quite suyccessfuly
