digging up millions of years of carbon released into the atmosphere fits the definition snugly. and yes, nothing to do with cloud seeding either.

the difference is in the deliberate nature of the cause. they weren't thinking of the environment at all 100 years ago. now we see the effects.

Now we need to effect other strategies to reduce our carbon based emissions.
