I sold out of SOL last week because and was very interested to read the comments above from joeywolf. My view is that SOL are everywhere but nowhere at the same time. In short, I found it hard to see where the company was going. I know they increase their dividends every year but you can get 5% fully franked anywhere on a LIC at present and SOL's dividends are half that. I also didn't like their annual result announcement where they announced the incease in the portfolio rather than the actual profit of the company. In short I think they are in danger of living off their well earned reputation and could be losing the plot. The share price would suggest that I am not the only one thinking that. The chairman's recent enormous share top up remding me of the tactics employed by Geoff Wilson over at WAM.
