Editor's Note: Although Apple's chief executive Steve Jobs usually doesn't participate in Apple's earnings calls, he "dropped by" Monday to sit in on Apple's first $20 billion quarter. In doing so, he dominated the call, launching into an extensive and incendiary criticism of Apple competitors Research in Motion and especially Google.
Below is a transcript of Jobs' remarks, which began about fifteen minutes into the call and lasted about ten minutes. During that time, Jobs rebutted characterizations that the Apple iOS platform is "closed," and positioned Google's Android platform as "fragmented".
