April 26 (Reuters) - Elliott Investment Management has built a roughly $1 billion stake in Anglo American Plc AAL.L , Bloomberg News reported on Friday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.
Anglo American rejected rival miner BHP Group's (BHP) 31.1 billion pound ($39 billion) takeover proposal on Friday, saying the bid significantly undervalued the London-listed miner and its future prospects.
