waste continues to accumulate at reactor sites all over the world because despite attempts to establish permanent depositaries, apart from the one in Finland, no suitable and acceptable sites can be found. Even the one in Finland still has no waste deposited in it to date. Australia's attempts to find suitable sites have all failed and been abandoned. The problems with uranium begin as soon as it is removed from the ground out of highly concentrated ore deposits. When this ore is crushed, turned to fine sands, its surface area is vastly increased, multiplying its reaction with air. The problems continue with processing. transport, enrichment and generation.
