boc re: renewed interest-big spike Autonomy first. In any case Panguna mine is legally held by PNG mining title. And the PNG Gov't is a major shareholder. Any newly independant (or otherwise) country will establish property ownership laws to encourage badly needed investment just as in say East Timor.
