This government would impose a tax without very carefully considering the bottom line cost. That's why they capitulated when the mining industry turned up the heat on them. They had no idea whether the miners would go on an investment strike in this country, so they withdrew their tax proposal and asked the big miners to write their mining tax policy for them.
