Good development - the company engaging with RIO means they are definitely on the radar of at least one big Australian.
Transmission cost estimate - not sure - Will have to read the AEMO report - interested to see what capacity will be proposed - upsizing for potential future grid feed in always something to consider IMO - ie. if the company is successful - building their own solar farm & battery storage on site at Speewah overcapacity in future. transmission-cost-report.pdf (aemo.com.au)
The LV line to El Questro is interesting - this is a popular tourist destination (glamping) - not sure what they run on but wouldn't surprise if it is diesel generators. Multiple customers means a PPA (off book transmission/grid connection) provided by Pac Hydro/Horizon would be ideal (at a minimum shared cost.) Identifying a cost-effective & responsible power supply solution now critical in future feasibility of the project. I've certainly seen what happens to the SP & the company reputation when the company doesn't do this early in the piece.
