How is the government going to protect these electricity assets??

They are vulnerable to attack, being remote & unprotected.

You would need nothing more that a rifle to & proximity to a battery network or wind farm to cause absolute chaos.

(And if we are NOT talking about it we should - potentially trillions being spent & assets vulnerable. - hoping is not a plan)

You could have Australia powerless in a time of crisis.

Yet Ukraine Nuclear has been belted with missiles &still functions.
