I reckon a decent lawyer told Sharaz that the outcome will be the same whether they both contest the defamation action or just one contests it. Win or lose. So why pay double the legal costs? The fact is, Reynolds has already lost a defamation case brought against her by Higgins re the "Lying Cow" statement and has also admitted to lying in the supreme court in the initial Lehrmann rape trial. She defames herself constantly, whatever happens in this case wont help her reputation, she has destroyed it anyways. Does anyone even remember the tweets/instagram posts that were meant to be defamatory? Chasing a rape victim for money because your feelings got hurt is not the way to redeem your self-inflictied reputational wounds. It will do the opposite. Reynolds is in it for the cash and the revenge, pure and simple. IMO.
