No - thats ridiculous, QA QC with visible gold nearly always means that additional screen fire assays are required to be done, because of the coarse nature of the gold, the normal assay results can have larger margins of error and/or the blanks and standards aren't performing as expected at the lab. You can't "fiddle" with half core samples and the reason that QA QC is a thing, is precisely to prevent anyone from doing this.
If anyone is scared of the words QA QC and don't know what they mean, then they should sell all their mining shares immediately because it means that they don't understand resource geology and grade control. May as well throw darts at the ASX 200 board.
