given the tone and language some use I would be very surprised if there aren’t some among the posters who are abusive. But I’d also be pretty sure that these people are very unlikely to know they are, or why or what it actually looks like.
it’s very very easy to blame women or to resort to the not all men, or any one of a number of responses intended to dismiss or diminish the problem.
sitting behind this is a lack of understanding of the socialisation process - how men and women are socialised to certain behaviours, expectations and patterns. Laying beneath that is basic personality.
much of the narrative from people who think this is a beat up is based on a very male oriented perspective- what women are doing wrong. I guess it’s not their “fault” that’s how they see it - they too have been socialised. Whether men see it or not society actually is shaped around men.
