Its just a different benchmark or KPI to use when comparing different memories that aren't all in the same memory class.

But if we want to discuss energy usage, yeah, I agree with you, 4DS has claimed and I have no reason to doubt that 4DS RRAM IP uses less switching energy than DRAM over a year.

Dammit, you & King have got me looking deeper into the chart & supporting doc, grrr.

I note these comparison figures were from at least 17 years ago. Anything changed over that time?

Not that I really care at the moment, it just goes with my question everything, eyes wide open approach & so may help others in their guesstimates.
