Gen 2:7 - And Yehowah God formed manof the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
nephesh: a soul, living being, life, self, person, desire, passion, appetite, emotion

Hence it doesn't appear to be saying you have a soul, but you are a soul.
