    Yes but by lots of $1 and $4 trades. Definitely contrived.

    So the question is do they do that to build a chart pattern for those that watch it or do they do it for shorts or some other reason?

    e.g for someone watching the chart if it falls through resistance does that trigger more sales for them to scoop up? or generate more liquidity to sell into?

    I've tried to work it out using broker data to no avail.
