Over the last few days I have been researching Nio a Chinese EV maker with surging sales who is working on solid state battery production with CATL.
CATL are working with Ford in the U.S. to make batteries, CATL are in charge of the supply chain for the batteries.
NIO execs have been busy in the U.S.
A lecture at Harvard on bringing battery swapping to U.S. OEMs something which NIO have successfully implemented in China adding longterm value to an EV, the warranty for the EV is separate to the battery plus their semi solid battery which is going into production in China this year.
U.S. could be on the near term list.
Both innovations address the 2 main EV anxieties, range and secondhand value.
