You suggest that because I've arrived at a different conclusion to yourself that I have somehow not done my research, and have not used my brain.
How completely and typically arrogant.
The research suggests there are too many variable factors on a road to make them currently viable.
Roads are not tracks, lane markings are imperfect, even in developed cities.
CBD connectivity is severely hampered by buildings as well.
What happens when we lose connectivity? Everything just stops. Sorry mate, can't get you to hospital, the network is down, autonomous car won't move.
But as I have stated above, autonomy suits airborne travel more than ground travel.
Autonomous VTOLs make more sense, and in fact, could be awesome.
