I had a quick search and the articles I found indicated that we need a lot more data before we can say that for sure. Also because this is a sensitive area of public policy I think the bar will be set fairly high. I'm not saying it will never happen, just that you seem to be a bit ahead of the curve. Also there are powerful proponents of this (e.g. the on-and-off richest man in the world and his fans) who are habitually ahead of the curve, e.g. saying there could be a million people living on Mars in a few decades. IMO statements like these are distorted for the self-interest of the people making them. Big grain of salt.
